About
About Wattlebid
Melbourne-built. Australian-owned. One engineer scratching a real itch.
Why we exist
The Australian government contract market is huge. Federal, state, and council spend on services runs into the tens of billions a year, and it's genuinely accessible to small businesses. Councils buy cleaning. State governments buy IT services. Federal agencies buy consulting, comms, engineering, security. If you're a five-person SMB, there's a tender for you next Tuesday.
The catch is discovery. There isn't one portal. There are seven federal-and-state portals, plus VendorPanel across most councils, plus each department's own procurement noticeboard. To watch them all properly is a part-time job on top of your actual job. I did it. Sundays at 9pm. I got tired of it and built Wattlebid instead.
Who we are
- Registered business: Jobchange Australia (sole trader), ABN 30 724 947 983. Melbourne, Australia.
- Team: small. Founder-led. One engineer, a small circle of early customers helping shape the filter logic.
- Independent. We're not affiliated with the Commonwealth or any state government. We're not a reseller of any procurement platform. We don't take referral fees from bid writers or consultants.
- What we're not. A tender writer. A consultant. A "leverage AI to disrupt procurement" pitch deck. Wattlebid is one narrow tool: discovery of the tenders you can actually win, plus a first-draft response to spare you the blank page.
